HR Generalist

Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, provide support to the daily operations of del Lago Resort Casino for the Human Resources Department.  Human Resources Generalists are responsible for performing HR related duties at a professional level and works closely with HR Management.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Leave Administration and Benefits, HRIS support, compliance and regulatory requirements, onboarding and training, policy implementation, employee engagement and recruitment and team member relations issues. 


GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide support to the daily operations of the HR Department.
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal and State employment laws, gaming regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Assists with recruitment tasks as needed.
  • Maintains employee personnel files.
  • Creates reports, utilizes HRIS and provides administrative support.
  • Demonstrates old world hospitality with charm with external and internal guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of HR Generalist experience.  Other HR experience may be considered.

  • Gaming or Fine hospitality environment experience preferred
  • Experience supporting a Union represented environment preferred
  • Expertise in ADP/HRIS systems
  • Must be knowledgeable in all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to labor and the hiring process.
  • Experience in administering FMLA, ADA, NYS Disability, NYS Paid Family Leave, and NYS Paid Sick Leave
  • Knowledge of health and welfare plan administration
  • Knowledge in 401k plan administration
  • Training experience
  • Employee engagement and wellness initiative experience 
  • Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills. 
  • Must be congenial, persuasive and a team player.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the other duties described herein each and every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino. 
  • Obtain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department. 
  • Have knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and internal controls.
  • Reports any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any team member that they have knowledge of.

Starting pay of $58,500
